Christos D. Tourtouras was born in Xanthi (Greece) in 1966.
He has studied Pedagogy at graduate level (B.Ed.) in Larissa (Pedagogical Academy) and Thessaloniki (Department of Primary Education of Aristotle University), as well as Psychology in Thessaloniki (Department of Psychology of Aristotle University).
He also holds a Ph.D. in Education from the Department of Primary Education of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, concerning especially the sector of “minorities and educational/social exclusion” in Greece.
He used to be a primary school teacher in Greek state/public education for 22 years (from 1989-90 up to 2010-11).
Now, he serves as a Lecturer of Pedagogy in the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education of Aristotle University.
The phenomena of “school failure” and “social and educational exclusion” (causes and factors) as well as the Intercultural and Anti-racist education are the main fields of his scientific interests.
