Psychology with emphasis in planning psychosocial interventions

She was Dean of the Faculty of Education (from 1/9/2008 to 12/3/2013)

From 1989 up to date she has collaborated in planning and implementing programs for the integration of groups experiencing social exclusion. She was member of the scientific committee of the European program POVERTY 3 at Thessaloniki (1990 -1994) and in this framework she established and directed the first Center for Single-Parent Families in Greece.

She also published a book (in greek) entitled Single-Parent Families. Realities -Prospects -Social Policies. Athens: Athens: Nea Synora –Livanis, 1995.

Dimitra Kogidou is mainly involved in research work on the situation of single parent families and social minorities as well as on gender and education issues and has published a great number of articles on the above issues.
